Events featuring small business owners and artists are back in person after a long pause due to the pandemic.
Flea markets and vintage events have created a tight-knit community of people looking to safely meet again after a long hiatus. The New & Old Flea Market’s first pop up location in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Sept. 25 featured over 30 vendors, such as local vintage shops, artists, and two DJs.
“Being able to have an outlet where I can create something and have it bring positivity to others is transformative,” artist Katherine Brewer said. “During COVID, we were so isolated from each other that it became really hard to feel like what you did mattered but being able to do art and share it really matters in a time like this.”
