Ella Eddy is a perfect example of a college student struggling to maintain a work-life balance. Like many full-time students, Eddy juggles academics at Kalamazoo Valley Community College with full-time work at Biggby Coffee in Portage, Michigan. In fact, many undergraduate students work more than 20 hours a week, according to the U.S. Department of Education. Eddy’s long hours are not uncommon, either; working college students log 15 to 35 hours per week. according to the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce.
