The Kalamazoo Women’s March on Oct. 2 that began in Bronson Park in downtown Kalamazoo drew about 2,000 people. The march was organized to draw attention to concerns about new Texas laws regarding abortion. Specifically, the law states that “prohibited abortion of unborn child with detectable fetal heartbeat”. The also states that woman cannot get an abortion after 6 weeks of being pregnant. Organizers such as Wanda Mosley said they hoped the March would bring attention to the ongoing conflict over reproductive rights.
