This website features the reporting, writing and multimedia work of undergraduate students at various levels of the WMU journalism curriculum. The student work published here is intended to both showcase the work that students in the program are doing as well as serve as another source of information about the Kalamazoo community and current issues.
The WMU journalism program has a track record of training undergraduate students for successful careers in journalism. Graduates of the program are working throughout Michigan as well as the U.S. in broadcast, news writing, digital and social media positions. The program emphasizes the portable skills of idea generation and evaluation; research involving digital and document sources; interviewing; information assessment; concise and accurate writing; purposeful editing.
